Denise Nix, MBA, EA
Princess Denise of Deductions
After completing her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Denise got her start in the tax world as a tax professional at H & R Block. Denise went on to complete her MBA in 2013, just before joining the ROR team in early 2014. She has continued with her tax education by completing the Special Enrollment Exams in 2016.
Previous to her work at ROR Denise was employed by one of their suppliers, TENENZ, Inc. (Tax and Accounting Supplies). At TENENZ Denise was the Accounting Manager with many hats. Last minute tax law and filing changes were always on her radar. She is no stranger to tax research either.
Before 16 years at TENENZ Denise owned and managed a preschool and daycare for 5 years, and spent nearly 10 years in Inventory Control with Best Buy Company as they grew from 7 local metro stores to over 230 stores across the nation. Very exciting stuff!
With a vast array of past experience and education including her new Enrolled Agent (EA) status, Denise is available to help you with your individual and small business taxes, bookkeeping, and general questions. Just give her a call to set something up.

Matt was born and raised in the German founded city of New Ulm, Minnesota. He earned his AAS in Financial Accounting from Rasmussen College Mankato and his BS in Accounting from Colorado State University. In the late 1990’s he owned and operated a small pizzeria, so he knows firsthand the challenges small business owners face. Matt works with businesses in a variety of industries from construction and manufacturing to restaurants, retail, and transportation. Having worked in accounting and tax preparation since early 2008, Matt’s area of specialty has become tax and accounting for small to medium sized businesses and offers bookkeeping, sales tax, business start-up and income tax services. He has experience assisting clients with live IRS audits as well as responding to mailed notices.
Currently, Matt is only considering new clients who have business related tax and accounting needs. We recommend scheduling an initial “no fee introduction meeting” outside of tax season (May to December).
Declaration of royal treatment ~ “I pledge to provide clients with realistic answers to their tax situation and to give them the peace of mind that their tax returns are accurate and deliver the best possible outcome.”
Ray is not ashamed to admit he originally hails from the northern suburbs of Chicago. However, he considers himself a MN native as he left the shores of Lake Michigan more than twenty years ago. Ray spent 25 years working in the software industry, most recently with Lawson Software, as director of product development, marketing and information technology. After a brief “Ray-tirement”, he is enjoying a second career at ROR as one of our tax professionals focusing on individual returns and individuals who are self-employed or have rental properties. Off-season, Ray can be found outside in the yard and garden, working on the family tree or spending time with friends and his 4-legged adopted daughters, Tessa (dog) & Tivo (cat)!
Declaration of royal treatment ~ “I pledge to treat every client as a member of my extended family, making tax time a “family reunion”, while going above and beyond and making “getting the taxes done” as efficient, reliable, accurate and enjoyable as possible!”
